Our Air et Aventure paragliding school is based in Lumbin, Isère. Isère is The Place to Be for paragliding. Thanks to its geographical position, our school enjoys close proximity to one of the world's most famous spots, Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet ! In fact, it's from this ideal location that you'll make most of your flights during your paragliding course.
To better adapt to all types of pilots or new pilots and their needs, we offer 9 different types of courses. Ranging from mini-discovery courses for beginners to more technical courses such as cross-country or thermal performance courses for more experienced paragliders. We also offer courses for intermediate paragliders, with the aim of perfecting their skills and mentality.
Our paragliding school has FFVL certification, and all our courses are run by a team of experienced, qualified instructors with hundreds of flying hours under their belts. They will provide you with professional, educational guidance. Among them is Thibaut Pignol, a fervent paragliding enthusiast at the highest level, who will guide you throughout your training. He is also the manager of the Air et Aventure store, and will be able to answer all your technical questions. We can also mention Lucas Le Courtois. School manager and state-certified instructor, the Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet site holds no secrets for him.

At Air et Aventure, we want paragliding to be accessible to as many people as possible. That's why our prices are so attractive.
You'll be hard pressed to find better value for money elsewhere. In fact, all the theoretical parts of our paragliding courses take place on our premises, ideally located at the foot of the Lumbin landing. We have 2 training rooms, a kitchen and a shower accessible throughout your course. Take-offs at Saint-Hilaire are handled entirely by our school. We have our own shuttle bus.
Last but not least, all your paragliding equipment is loaned to you on most courses (with the exception of Cross and Perf thermique courses). The partnership between our paragliding store and our school means that we can always offer you the latest equipment (wing, harness, reserve parachute, etc.) from the best paragliding brands such as Niviuk, Gin and Skywalk.
It's easy to pay for your paragliding course when you book online. Payment is made by credit card. During the process, a 100% secure payment link from our partner Crédit Agricole will be sent to you. Has paragliding always appealed to you ? Would you like to learn to fly like a bird ? Do you want to fly on your own ? Then our Air et Aventure paragliding school's introductory course is for you.
Paragliding is an easily accessible aerial sport for everyone! Even for people with disabilities.
You'll learn the basics of paragliding from the very first days, and then gradually start practising inflation on the training slope. If weather conditions are favorable, the third and fourth days will be devoted to your very first solo flight !
This is your chance to put into practice what you've learned in theory. Your first take-offs and landings will of course take place under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors. They will be in constant radio contact with you, guiding you from a distance. The rest of your training will be punctuated by technical exercises both in the air and on the ground, interspersed with theory sessions on subjects such as meteorology, flight mechanics and aerology!
The easiest way is to let yourself be tempted! Some people have tried it... they've never had any problems.
As mentioned above, our paragliding school is based in Lumbin. As such, it enjoys close proximity to one of the world's most famous flying sites : Saint-Hil'! Every year, the world's biggest paragliding event takes place here: the Coupe Icare ! We're just 20 minutes from Grenoble and 30 minutes from Chambéry. To get here from Lyon, you'll need at least 1h30 (record to beat 😉 ).
You won't believe it! Paragliding is a free-flight discipline which, over the years, has evolved into a whole range of different activities. Here are just a few examples :
The distance record for paragliding is 417 km in one day (approximately Reims - Clermont-Ferrand). And without talking about a record, it's not difficult to cover several dozen kilometers when you take up paragliding.
For adrenaline junkies, it's even possible to fly upside down on acro flights, and experience the thrills and chills of a roller-coaster ride! However, this highly technical discipline is aimed at highly experienced pilots with a taste for thrills. Unlike skydiving, there's no question of freefall. Instead, pilots perform acrobatic maneuvers in the air, such as Infinity tumbling, Mc twist and Misty.
Sports fans of trail running, hiking and other mountain activities won't be left out in the cold, thanks to the technological developments of recent years. It's now possible to fly on Hike and Fly outings with equipment weighing less than your water bottle! Practical when you don't want to break your knees on the way down from a summit!
There are still many ways to practice paragliding, but one value remains common to all of them. Contemplation and calm during gentle phases of flight.
Not tempted yet ?
If you don't feel like jumping into the deep end yet. You can get off to a gentle start with a tandem paragliding flight. In fact, our school also offers a variety of first flights. From Zen to Sensation, these tandem paragliding flights can be a good way of getting to grips with the sensations of flight, and confirming your interest in paragliding. Either way, you're in for an unforgettable experience !
Here you'll find all the answers to your most frequently asked questions! Don't worry, we're used to it!
