In fact, it's probably the most famous paragliding spot in the world, thanks in no small part to the Coupe Icare, the world's biggest festival dedicated to the practice of aerial sports, and paragliding in particular. Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet is one of the cradles of paragliding. Located 20 minutes from Grenoble, it's one of the most popular spots for paragliders, thanks to its favorable weather conditions and, above all, its huge, arched cliffs.

Thanks to its enormous cliffs, bathed in morning sunshine, the Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet site is ideal for flying for several hours at a time and covering distances of up to several hundred kilometers. It's not uncommon for experienced paragliders to cover 200-300 km in a single day. In winter, the site becomes a real picture postcard, with its snow-filled relief and unobstructed view of Belledonne. It's the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors !

Take your first paragliding flight in Grenoble

And if conditions are right on the day, you'll also be able to admire the Mont Blanc massif hiding behind the Bauges peaks.

Once you're up in the air, you'll be able to contemplate the majestic Oule waterfall. With its 200-metre drop, you'll discover some exceptional flora. The instructor pilot will take you just a few meters from the waterfall, so close you'll feel its coolness!

Then, after a few turns in thermal lift, your qualified pilot will show you the majestic Dent de Crolles overlooking the Plateau-des-Petites-Roches and the village of Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet. In fact, it's not unusual for us to reach the same height as the summit during a Paragliding Tandem Experience.

Last but not least, during your first flight you may come into contact with jackdaws, griffon vultures and other falcons. Indeed, the cliffs of Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet are teeming with birds of prey and other birds that fly alongside the paraglider.
