FIRST STEPS

First, we'll explain how a paraglider works. The equipment you need to fly a paraglider consists of a wing, a harness, a parachute and other connecting elements such as carabiners. You'll then take full part in the adventure by helping us get it airborne for your very first flight! Once in the air, we'll show you the basics of flying. You'll get closer to birds of prey, jackdaws and chamois than you've ever been before! As you fly over the peaks, there are several options to choose from, depending on the type of experience you're looking for and what you want to do.

For the more adventurous, Air et Aventure Académie has a group of experienced pilots who can provide you with adrenalin, thrills and aerobatics. For the more wise, take to the skies in complete serenity and let yourself be carried away by the caress of the wind, the thermals and the updrafts.

AN EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE

A first paragliding experience at one of the region's most beautiful sites, Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet, near Grenoble, is a unique opportunity! This spot is considered by paragliding circles to be one of the world's meccas for our sport! When you take off, you'll discover a breathtaking view of the Belledonne mountain range. Don't panic, as you're in the air, you won't feel any vertigo. Just a few minutes in the air, and you'll be just a few metres from a magnificent waterfall! BREATHTAKING! The rest of your flight? That's up to you. Enjoy the view from the sky and the flight over the Grésivaudan valley, with the Vercors and the Alps in the distance. Don't hesitate to ask questions of your instructor, who will be delighted to get you actively involved in your tandem paragliding flight ! You might even get the chance to fly, to discover the pleasure of flying and become a real paraglider pilot.

Our Air et Aventure Académie paragliding school was set up in 2020. It brings together experienced paragliding instructors from the region who will be delighted to help you discover all its secrets. Thibaut, Lucas and Jérôme are all paragliding experts and qualified instructors from the FFVL-certified Air et Aventure Académie paragliding school. The FFVL is also responsible for hang gliding, paramotoring and kite flying.  They teach on courses and offer first flights throughout the year. They'll be delighted to pass on their passion to you in a moment of sharing and contemplation. Located in Lumbin, right next to the landing area and close to the funicular departure point, Air et Aventure has a prime location for watching paragliders land during their tandem flights. A large car park is available for your vehicles during your first paragliding experience. Our shuttle bus will take you to the take-off point in Saint Hilaire du Touvet. The journey takes around thirty minutes. After your flight, make the most of the nearby restaurants and terraces with our partners at Le Rétro, L'Atterro and Burg'Air. Before taking off, our instructors check the weather and aerology. They may delay take-off depending on the conditions. Don't forget your sunglasses and windbreaker, make yourself comfortable in your harness and enjoy an unforgettable experience from take-off to landing.

The equipment used by our instructors during paragliding jumps is checked regularly. It also undergoes a complete overhaul of the lines - the wires that connect the paraglider to the harness - and the glider to identify and repair any tears in the fabric. We chose to offer the option of capturing photos and videos during the flight. It was important for us to offer those who wanted to keep material memories of this unique experience without impacting on our other customers. If you're not sure, you can pay the supplement after the flight.

When selecting your first paragliding experience in Grenoble, you will be able to choose the duration of the flight and the time slot, as well as including additional options such as taking photos and videos directly during the paragliding experience. Paragliding is subject to many hazards.If you are unable to make your flight, you can of course postpone it at no extra cost by asking us in advance. You will also be informed in advance if the weather conditions are not right for you to enjoy your first paragliding flight. We will then agree another time slot according to your availability. 

HOW DO I BOOK MY FIRST PARAGLIDING FLIGHT ONLINE WITH AIR ET AVENTURE ?

Air et Aventure makes it easy to book your first paragliding flight with our online booking platform. Plan a slot for one or two passengers in just a few clicks, it's that simple. First of all, on our website, in the ‘First flights’ section, select one of our 6 paragliding packages to suit your requirements, then click on the ‘Book a flight’ button. You'll be transferred to our booking platform, where all you have to do is plan the date of your flight and send us your contact details. You will receive confirmation emails summarising the important information for your first paragliding flight in Saint Hilaire. Bookings can also be made by phone, email or directly at the Air et Aventure shop. Your instructor will get back to you a few days before the flight to confirm that the weather conditions are suitable for your first paragliding experience. If the flight goes well, you can take a course to learn to fly on your own. From beginner to advanced courses to master thermals and earn your pilot's licence, we can guide you through this discipline.  

Air et Aventure facilite la réservation de votre baptême de parapente grâce à sa plateforme de réservation en ligne. Planifiez un créneau pour un passager ou deux en quelques clics, c’est très simple. Tout d’abord, sur notre site internet, dans la rubrique « Baptêmes de parapente », sélectionnez l’une de nos 6 formules de vol en parapente adaptée à votre envie, puis cliquez sur le bouton « Réservez un vol ». Vous serez transféré sur notre plateforme de réservation où il ne vous restera plus qu’à planifiez la date de votre vol et nous transmettre vos coordonnées. Vous recevez des mails de confirmation récapitulant les informations importantes pour votre baptême de parapente à Saint Hilaire. La réservation peut également se faire par téléphone, par mail ou directement à la boutique Air et Aventure. Votre moniteur reviendra vers vous quelques jours avant le vol pour certifier que les conditions météos permettent de réaliser votre saut en parapente. Si le vol se passe bien, vous pouvez vous laisser tenter par un stage pour apprendre à voler de vos propres ailes. En pente-école lors de stage d'initiation jusqu'au perfectionnement pour maitriser les thermiques et décrocher votre brevet de pilote, nous vous accompagnons dans cette discipline.
