The main function of the rucksack bag is to transport all your paragliding equipment on your back when you’re not flying. It must be able to accommodate your paragliding wing , of course, but also your harness, helmet, and possibly gloves, a radio, or your flight instruments. Several criteria should be considered when purchasing your rucksack bag.
The first criterion, and not the least, is the total capacity of your rucksack bag. This is usually referred to as the bag volume and is measured in liters (L). You will need to fit your paragliding wing , more or less neatly folded, and all the rest of your equipment. It is therefore recommended to choose a bag volume corresponding to the size of your wing. A 50 L bag can easily accommodate a single-surface or light wing, while a 90 L bag is better suited for larger paraglider wings. Air et Aventure recommends that, if possible, you visit the store with your equipment to choose your rucksack bag and test the bag volume according to your folding style and equipment.
Another important criterion is the comfort of using the rucksack bag. You will be carrying your bag on your back, sometimes for several tens of minutes during approach walks or on takeoff sites.
