PARAGLIDING AND PARAMOTOR HARNESSES
How do I choose a paragliding harness?
Along with the paraglider, the harness is the most important part of your equipment. It's the seat you'll be sitting in during your flight. Ideally, before choosing your paragliding harness, you should try it out, sit in it under a gantry and, if possible, test it in flight. By testing a harness in the air, you'll get a feel for its stability and comfort, and you'll be able to get your bearings in terms of pockets, gas pedal, cockpit and so on.
Which harness for which type of flying?
Choosing the right paragliding harness for your paraglider is a matter of course. That's why we've put together a range of harnesses to meet all your equipment needs. If you're a flyer, you're bound to find the right string harness for you. Don't forget to look out for those that can be combined with a reversible airbag. You'll also find plenty of other harnesses for speed riding or speed flying. For light pilots, you'll find reversible harnesses, light cocoons, but also progression harnesses at a moderate weight. For high-performance pilots, you can equip your paraglider with an ultra-profiled, comfortable cocoon, enabling you to fly hundreds of kilometers with complete peace of mind.
Passive harness protection
You'll find most of the protection technologies on our harnesses. Airbag, Mousse bag, Permair and Koroyd are found on most of our paragliding harnesses. Finally, for the most experienced pilots, you can choose harnesses without protection to optimize the overall weight of your equipment. This is generally aimed at Hike & Fly pilots.
Harness/rescue parachute compatibility
One of the last points to consider when choosing your harness is its compatibility with the rescue system. There are several different sizes of harness pockets that can accommodate different types of rescue. So it's a good idea to think about your rescue system before you buy your harness, to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Accessorizing your paragliding harness
To complete your equipment, you'll probably find the largest collection of harness accessories on this page.
For connection to the glider, you'll find all kinds of carabiners and links in various sizes. For the connection to the rescue parachute, remember to choose suitable risers, Y or separate, in dyneema or webbing. In addition to these, you'll be able to find a suitable POD or reserve pocket container. You can also use split hooks to connect the gas pedal. Last but not least, you'll find all the small equipment directly related to the world of paragliding harnesses (cockpit, footbrace, cocoon, spreaders or winch release, etc.).
Testing paragliding harnesses at Air et Aventure
Like our paragliders, we have a huge stock of harnesses for you to test in-store under a gantry. You can also take advantage of test flights at our Saint Hilaire du Touvet site. For pilots farther away, we can try to arrange a test flight by sending the desired harness directly to your home. Contact us now for more information
