The windsocks, windsock masts, and aerial marking are essential for ensuring effective and secure signaling in aeronautical and industrial environments.

The windsocks provide an immediate visual indication of wind direction and strength, which is crucial for pilots and ground personnel in landing and takeoff zones. Designed to withstand the elements, they offer a reliable reading even under challenging weather conditions.

The windsock masts ensure optimal stability, even in strong winds, thanks to robust materials like galvanized steel or aluminum. Available in various heights, they allow for installation adapted to the specific needs of each site.

The aerial marking, often illuminated or reflective, completes this system by marking safety zones and providing essential visual cues, particularly in low visibility or nighttime conditions.

By combining windsocks, masts, and marking, a clear and reliable signaling solution is achieved, adapted to the safety and orientation requirements of high-risk areas.

AVIATION WINDSOCKS :

In the aviation context, windsocks stand out as essential tools within airports and airfields. They are designed with high-quality textiles, resistant to moisture, strong winds and UV rays, to ensure long-lasting performance in variable weather conditions.

Strategically positioned around runway edges, these windsocks provide pilots with crucial information on ground weather conditions, especially during critical landing and takeoff phases. It should be noted that for airports, windsocks must be type-approved and therefore comply with the STNA standard

AVIATION MASTS, LIGHTING AND BEACONS :

What is aerial beaconing for?

Windsock masts and supports are of crucial importance in aviation, guaranteeing visibility and accurate weather information for pilots. Designed with meticulous attention to safety and durability standards, these devices enable windsocks to be installed optimally, providing a clear indication of wind direction and intensity in the vicinity of landing and take-off runways.

At the same time, aerial beaconing and windsock lighting plays an indispensable role in aircraft orientation, contributing to the safety of operations at night and in low-visibility conditions. These lighting systems are carefully positioned along runways, ensuring precise guidance for pilots during ground maneuvers. By combining advanced technology with robust design, windsock masts and supports, as well as beaconing and lighting systems, embody a pillar of airport safety and air navigation.

Air et Aventure has carefully selected the best devices for you. Don't hesitate to discover them!

Windsocks

Windsocks are crucial for estimating wind speed and direction. They can be used to mark a paragliding takeoff or landing site, or to indicate wind conditions on bridges, highways, or airports. Typically red and white in their STNA-certifiedICAO, or DGAC-approved versions, windsocks vary in length and diameter. Our range includes options in woven polyester or ripstop fabric.

Masts

Masts can be for recreational or professional use, with some meeting standards. They come in various materials and diameters to fit different windsocks. Ensure the mast matches the windsock, as larger windsocks that resist strong winds need suitable masts.

Runway Marking

Runway markers are standardized and used to delineate runways, ends of runways, and taxiways at airports and other airfield areas.

Feel free to contact us for more information.

Aerial Beaconing

From high mast beacons to interior windsock lights, these standardized lights mark obstacle heights or make windsocks visible at night. Required for obstacles over 25 meters, options include various power sources and dusk-to-dawn switches, in colors for both daytime and nighttime use.

PARAGLIDING WINDSOCKS :

Windsocks are particularly important for paragliding, providing pilots with precise visual indications of wind direction and strength. These devices help paragliders to assess weather conditions at height, enabling them to make informed decisions for take-off and landing in particular. Paraglider windsocks are therefore installed at key landmarks on flying sites, and are often smaller and more compact than those used in aviation.

HOW TO READ THE WIND WITH A WINDSOCK?

Placed on the outside and shaped like a cone, windsocks easily indicate wind direction. All you have to do is look at the tip of the sleeve, which is always pointing in the direction of the wind.

WHAT IS A WINDSOCK?

Windsocks, sometimes called "wind socks", are visual devices for determining wind direction and measuring wind speed. Fixed to the top of a mast...
