An improved Rogallo rescue parachute for paragliding
The Beamer 3 Light is a Rogallo-type rescue parachute manufactured by the Nova paragliding brand. Very light, it is 400gr lighter than its standard version, the Beamer 3, but retains all its qualities.

Ideal sink rate and perfect opening time
The Beamer 3 Light is one of the most maneuverable rescue parachutes on the paragliding market. It stands out from its competitors thanks to its unique features. First of all, it deploys quickly, a crucial quality in emergency situations where every second can count. What's more, thanks to its special shape and packing technique, the Beamer 3 Light can open up to 50% faster than round rescue parachutes. Its low sink rate is also a major advantage. Indeed, the Beamer 3 Light 's sink rate is 3.9 m/s at a maximum weight of 130 kg (without glider), a record confirmed by the EN certification authority. What's more, its additional braking effect reduces this value to less than 3 m/s in the presence of a paraglider.
In terms of stability, this steerable rescue parachute is far superior to the smallest models on the market. After a rapid opening, the parachute quickly takes control, offering a very slow forward speed. The low wing loading is one of the reasons why the Beamer 3 Light is so stable.
Increased stability and safety
The Beamer 3 Light offers a lower forward speed and combines the advantages of a round rescue with a forward-steering Rogallo. For example, if it opens along a rock face or in strong winds, its initial descent will be almost vertical. Then, after activating its steering lines, it can be maneuvered away from danger. Its braked opening configuration also has the advantage of effectively preventing downplaning, a shearing problem that increases fall speed and the risk of injury.
