The new-generation cross-country harness
Following in the footsteps of the Delight range, the Delight 4 is the new generation of Supair cocoon harnesses designed and developed specifically for comfortable cross-country flying.
When designing this paragliding harness, the aim was to make it easy to use, so that pilots could concentrate on what's essential: flying. To achieve this, Supair's designers kept three fundamental concepts in mind: comfort, simplicity and safety.
Comfort of a Cross harness
The comfort of a harness is measured first and foremost by its seat structure. The Delight 4 is more rigid than its predecessor. The pilot can multiply the hours in the air without ever losing comfort. What's more, comfort in the air also means practicality and simplicity of action. That's why the Delight 4 is packed with accessories and features. You'll have everything you need at your fingertips throughout the flight: large-capacity rigid cockpit, USB cable passage, side pockets, various passages for water bag hoses, ballast emptying or penilex... Likewise, harness adjustments remain accessible in the air, so you canadjust your position at any time during the flight.
All-round safety
Safety is also at the heart of the Delight 4's development. The harness incorporates a new, lighter BUMPAIR than that of the Delight 3, providing high-performance protection for maximum safety. Divided into two superimposed sections, a zipper allows the protection to be unfolded flat for simple, compact storage in the rucksack. In the same spirit of maximum passive safety, a fall arrester approved to new standards (450 kg) is used for double belaying of the chest strap.
Easy piloting
In terms of piloting, the use of a planchette prevents lateral compression points, while filtering the air mass to communicate only the information required for precise piloting. In turbulent conditions, the Delight 4's stable, reassuring character means you can remain confidently focused on your flying, without unnecessary jolts. Last but not least, the Delight's low-profile structure makes room for more storage space in the back pocket. It's also easier to steer when reversing.
In addition to the standard version, the 4th generation Delight is available in a second,"Sport" version. The basis of these 2 harnesses is similar, with the same frame and parachute pocket. The only difference is the presence of a foil, also known as an inflatable daggerboard, on the "Sport" version.
Delight 4 Sport: high-performance profiling
This sport version of the Delight 4 is aimed at cross-country pilots looking for a high-performance harness without compromising on comfort and safety. The Delight 4 Sport's profiling enhances the harness's line. The presence of the foil and its more aerodynamic profile enhance cross-country performance and stabilize the harness on the yaw axis.
Wind-tunnel tested, its aerodynamic profile reduces drag and improves flight performance. The use of this rear fairing also stabilizes the harness on the yaw axis, particularly in accelerated flight, making piloting particularly comfortable even after several hours of flight.
Seat quality
In addition to providing extra protection for the pilot, the use of a back comfort plate stiffens the seat of the Delight 4 Sport, making the harness more comfortable throughout the flight. It also provides better back support in accelerated flight.
The seat structure is cut in several pieces to perfectly fit different body shapes. This assembly avoids fabric folds that could create irregularities along the backrest.The best flying conditions at all times
To meet your needs throughout a cross-country flight, the DELIGHT 4 SPORT's adjustments remain accessible even in flight. Whether you want to straighten the seat, change the length of the speedbag or adjust the chest strap, you can always adapt your position to the different aerological conditions encountered during the flight.
The cockpit offers ample storage capacity, as well as a large surface area for all the instruments needed for navigation. It features a USB cable port for in-flight recharging.
Two zipped pockets on either side of the harness provide additional storage. You'll also find a clip for securing the radio in flight. A passageway on the right shoulder allows you to install your hydration system hose for ease of use. This passage is designed to fit under the reserve riser pocket, so the hose doesn't interfere with reserve parachute deployment.
The water bag fits into the back pocket via a compartment specifically designed for this purpose. There are two other passages on either side of the harness: one for the penilex hose, the other for emptying the ballast in flight.
Safety at all times
As well as contributing to seat comfort, the back plate is made from the same material as the subcutaneous protection. Combined with the BUMPAIR, it provides almost total protection, extending from the seat to the top of the back. In the same spirit, the parachute pocket has been designed to hold the parachute more securely in its compartment. Rescue assembly requires no tools, and can be carried out easily anywhere.
DELIGHT 4 or DELIGHT 4 SPORT, which to choose?
Although the seat structure is similar on both versions, the variation in rear fairing design targets different types of pilot.
The Delight 4 Standard is the direct evolution of the DELIGHT 3. With its low-profile structure, it is the ideal first cocoon. Simple to use, easy to handle and intuitive to fly, it gives pilots confidence from the very first flight, while offering maximum safety. The absence of an aerodynamic foil considerably increases storage space in the rear pocket.
Supair's Delight 4 Standard is a progression harness for pilots wishing to move into long-distance flying.
The Delight 4 Sport, on the other hand, is designed and developed for performance. It is aimed at pilots looking for an efficient cross-country harness that makes no compromises on comfort. While the harness remains simple to use, the aerodynamic profile makes it more technical to fly, for example, when reversing.
This harness is therefore best suited to pilots with a little more cross-country experience who are looking for comfort and performance.
