Switch 2 GIN: The versatile, limitless reversible harness

The Switch 2 from GIN is the reversible harness of the year 2022. The Korean manufacturer has produced an accomplished and versatile harness with an airbag, separate leg straps and an under-seat reserve container. Weighing in at 2.3 kg, the Switch 2 is light and compact without compromising on durability. Easy to use and adjust, it adapts to all sizes of pilot. Without limits, it's suitable for daily flying, walk & fly, schooling, tandem passengers, mini-sails and travel. It's packed with safety features, and is comfortable enough for all-day flying.

A unique design

The main innovation of the Switch 2 geometry is that it offers the advantages of a leg harness while retaining the handling of a flat-bed harness. The advantage of leg straps over a tray is the possibility of compact storage. This makes the Switch 2 a true walking and flying harness. In addition, the leg straps facilitate the run-up and the transition to the sitting position when exiting the landing area. However, the dissociation of the thighs is sometimes difficult to manage for beginner pilots. On the Switch 2, the thigh straps are linked together, absorbing the movements of the air. Beginner pilots are less destabilized and find a stability similar to that of a fixed-seat harness.

Another unique feature is the double-skin system, which differentiates the fabric of the harness from that which may be damaged during transport. Last but not least, the internal seams are finished with a bias tape, a guarantee of high-fashion quality.

Safety on the ground and in the air

The Switch 2 features a pre-inflated airbag protection system. Titanium rods and a thin layer of foam guarantee rapid and complete inflation. Only a few seconds are needed after take-off for optimum protection. The air inlet is located at the front, enhancing durability and ensuring smooth inflation and a clean surface appearance.

The reserve container is located under the seat. Shoulder rescue attachment points link it to the harness. The zippered tunnel protects the rescue halyards while providing fast, efficient opening. Very discreet, the harness retains a neat appearance.

Last but not least, this reversible harness offers another safety feature: the Edelrid triple-locking buckle. This new top-of-the-range buckle is easy to open and close. It offers a high level of security, yet is fully adjustable. The load-bearing elements are made of high-strength alloy steel with a KTL coating. The plastic housing and push-buttons are made of polyamide with impact-resistant fiberglass reinforcement.

Switch 2 comfort and durability GIN

Thanks to lighter but more durable materials and, above all, a weight-optimized design and pattern, GIN has achieved the feat of reducing overall weight while maintaining excellent wear resistance. The outer fabric of the harness is adorned with a new 70 Denia yarn. It's a nylon/polyester mix that retains a very good aesthetic appearance and is highly resistant to dust and abrasion.

Available in a single size, the Switch 2 had to fit the vast majority of pilots. It's easy to adjust in several ways. It's perfectly suited to use with schoolchildren or tandem passengers

On the backpack side, the Switch 2 features an ergonomic back and foam padding for the comfort of hikers.
