The efficient, robust release carabiner
When the rescue parachute is pulled, the paraglider can interfere with its deployment or alter its stability. All these factors influence the sink rate advertised by the manufacturers. What's more, when landing a tandem glider in strong winds, it can be difficult to lower your wing. With Charly's Paralock carabiners, you don't have to.

Paralock Charly: The lightweight carabiner release
The Paralock release carabiner from Charly is a separator carabiner for paragliding. Thanks to its solid construction and long service life, it is suitable for both solo and tandem use.
Using the Paralock release carabiner
When paragliding, certain circumstances may require you to separate your paraglider from the rest of your equipment. While this maneuver is very useful when landing in strong winds, for example, it can also help you stabilize your fall under the reserve parachute. Indeed, after a rescue pull, it's best to release the kite to avoid interaction with the parachute and thus increase its effectiveness. The Paralock release carabiner is the perfect replacement for traditional paraglider carabiners. Thanks to their design, separation once loaded is much easier. It also offers the possibility of preserving your lines by avoiding the use of a strap cutter.
Paralock: both light and strong
The Paralock detachable carabiner is very light, weighing just 73 grams. With a breaking load of 2,800 DaN, it can be used for everything from Hike & Fly to tandem paragliding. Along with Charly's Quick-out, the Paralock is one of the few carabiners to justify a lifespan or replacement interval of 8 years for solo paragliding and 5 years for tandem paragliding. Its robust forged Titanal design makes it one of the toughest on the market. The axle and locking bolt are made of hardened chromed steel.
* 1 DaN = 10 Newton 1 kg
Easy handling
The carabiner is easy to grip and handle, even when wearing gloves. Once the wing's risers have been inserted, the carabiner locks automatically. To open, simply press the button and rotate the release lever through 120°. Once in flight, a safety cap reliably prevents access to the knob, thus preventing accidental opening.
Compatible with many paragliding harnesses
The V-shaped belt chamber for the harness is designed to match the pull directions of the main risers and back strap. Thimble loops can be inserted above the harness chamber separation screw.
