Arolla 3 mountain excellence
The Arolla 3 is a mountain glider designed to roll up thermals, roam from ridge to ridge and enjoy the magnificent scenery. As much as on lightness, we have worked on practical use in high mountain conditions. Also homologated with an extended weight range, it allows every pilot to decide whether he or she wants to focus on thermal performance or weight saving.
When you're venturing into medium and high alpine conditions, you also need the right equipment. The Arolla 3, with its relatively short line cone and short length, is designed to take off anywhere. It inflates on the spot with a puff of air and takes off immediately. Thanks to 20 mm webbing risers and sheathed lines for the main lines, brakes and stabilizers, it's easy to prepare for takeoff, even when wearing gloves or mittens. Visual inspection of untangling is simple thanks to the rows of different-colored lines.

Sailmaking
The reduced aspect ratio of 4.7 is a guarantee of passive safety. Combined with a short line cone, this means you can launch real pocket handkerchiefs in the high mountains
For the AROLLA 3, lightness goes hand in hand with strength and durability. A heavier, more resistant fabric makes up the entire internal skeleton and the upper leading edge.
The leading edge, structured with mini-joints, guarantees immediate inflation on take-off.
The internal BVS (Balanced V-Structure) construction contributes to lightness and balances lift and transverse stresses thanks to judicious positioning of the diagonal structures
Two 3DS (3D-Shaping) technical cuts at the front of the top and bottom panels enable more precise 3D development of the leading edge, improving glide and penetration
TETS (Trailing Edge Tension System) brake system with trailing edge tension
Top surface leading edge parts are reoriented in the right direction
Elevators
Four risers guarantee greater stability for optimum canopy support.
Unsheathed lines are used only for the upper lines. Each row of lines is clearly distinguished by a different color.
Line diameters are optimized to guarantee flawless strength while reducing drag.
Unlike Aramid lines, the Dyneema lines used on the AROLLA 3 have a long service life. In principle, it is never necessary to change the line.
The 20 mm wide webbing risers are easy to handle, even when wearing gloves or mittens
Swivels on the handles to prevent twisting of the brake lines
O-rings on the links keep the lines in position
Speed-bar in two phases, with the first part of the stroke requiring less force. Glide priority or speed priority, the two-phasespeed-bar indicates to the pilot which part of the stroke he is in, without distracting his visual attention from the surrounding airspace
