Discover mountain flying with the Expé 3 harness
An evolution of the Expé 2, the Expé 3 string harness is the latest release from French manufacturer Nervures. Designed specifically for mountain flying, it retains all the qualities of its predecessor. However, it has undergone a number of improvements that will delight hikers and speedriders alike. The Expé 3 harness is available in 2 versions: the standard version and the Cordura version. What sets the two harnesses apart is that the Cordura version offers even greater support and comfort, with the added strength of technical CORDURA HEXAGON fabrics.
Expé 3 improvements
The main evolution of the Expé 3 string harness is the addition of features designed to improve user comfort. It offers simplified adjustment by replacing the adjustable splice with a two-turn halyard lock on a 3D-printed ball. Coupled with a modification to the position of the halyard between the thighs, comfort is greatly improved, especially when inflating against the wing .
The 2-position tilt adjustment allows you to adapt the flying position. It can be set either in the upright position, ideal when carrying a rucksack on your back. Alternatively, the second adjustment point is more inclined, for pilots who prefer a more supine position. It's up to you to try it out in flight or on a gantry, according to your needs and desires.
Lightweight, durable design
The materials used for this new version are the same as those used for the Expé 2. In fact, the design of a string harness requires materials that are both light and resistant. Dyneema halyards, Skytex fabric and special foam in the leg straps provide excellent comfort. The harness opens at the front, so you can put it on with crampons or skis, depending on your needs. This makes preparation much easier. You can also attach a speed-bar a low-friction ring repositioned on a halyard increases the harness 's resistance, and a guide ring at the end of the thigh plates.
