An Ultra Versatile and Ultralight Wing
The ARAK is the most versatile paraglider in the range and has made a name for itself as a true "Swiss army knife": the ARAK is easy to handle and immediately inspires confidence. Its performance allows flights of over 300 km, and its maneuverability invites playful flights of all kinds. The lightweight version of this bestseller takes all these features to an ultra-lightweight level: the ARAK AIR combines the ARAK concept with the technology of our X-ALPS wings! At only 2.9 kg, the ARAK AIR's weight is not only reduced by 30%, but its packed volume is also significantly smaller, allowing it to fit into the smallest backpack. This exclusive combination makes the ARAK AIR the perfect paraglider for all pilots who love to fly in X-Alps style and who want to rely on the passive safety of an intermediate wing.
How Does the ARAK AIR Fly?
Construction
Our ambition was to design an easy-to-fly wing with strong performance potential that is both ultra-light and very compact. The basic concept of the ARAK AIR is the same as that of the ARAK but with construction that incorporates the same lightweight technology as our X-Alps paragliders. The innovative TX-Light fabric, used on the heavily stressed leading edge, offers an excellent balance between lightness and robustness. On the rest of the wing, the ultra-lightweight 10D fabric is used. The 10D fabric has excellent aging resistance despite its extremely low weight.
Takeoff Behavior
The lightweight materials greatly simplify takeoff behavior. In the air, the ARAK AIR provides a lot of comfort due to its smoothness, making it very easy to fly. The wing gives excellent feedback and instills confidence from the start, allowing you to focus on the essentials, even in the most demanding conditions. This compact and ultra-light intermediate wing allows control at any angle with ease, so you can always find the best position in both weak thermals and challenging updrafts. Team pilots Oliver Teubert and Kilian Hallweger, who took 1st and 2nd place in the German cross-country championship (DHV-XC) in the standard class with the ARAK in 2019, showed that the ARAK series has enormous performance potential. The ARAK AIR allows you to easily tap into this potential thanks to its simplicity.
If you want to escape on adventures at your level like the X-Alps athletes but are looking for a wing that is easier to handle in everyday life, then the ARAK AIR is your choice!
