A childhood dream: to circumnavigate the globe.
One rule of the game: "zero carbon" to get ahead.
Bicycles for the Earth element, sailboat hitchhiking for the Water element and a paraglider for the Air element.
On July 11, 2008, Olivier took the first pedal to the metal.
In 7 years of non-motorized travel, he has criss-crossed the Caribbean with ex-convicts, experienced the hostility of Western Australia by bike, flown over the remote foothills of Tibet and escaped a military air strike in Turkey. In the background, the love of his partner, Nadège, is at stake. They travel together in the heights of the Andes, wing the Pacific, but adventure sows doubts and sometimes distances them.
105,000 km across 45 countries, nourished by thousands of encounters, trials and tribulations, and joyful, funny or terrifying anecdotes, forged his conviction that there is no such thing as a dream too extreme. From his wild adventure, worthy of the celestial tramps, Olivier brings back an exhilarating tale full of optimism. He reminds us what the word "freedom" really means.
