An all-terrain glider

Available in two versions (APUS RS or APUS RS Hike), the APUS RS can be used for everything from dynamic flights in strong winds at your local site, to Hike & Fly tours. The APUS RS fits perfectly into your luggage thanks to its compact size and very moderate weight, and is designed for all paraglider and mini glider pilots for whom the desire for adventure and a passion for flying are a top priority.

The APUS RS is available in a standard version and a light touring version. The design of the touring version (Hike) has been optimized for weight. The APUS RS Hike uses a 27g/m² fabric for the bottom and top surface, instead of the 41g and 34g combination of the standard version. We use extremely light Dyneema risers combined with soft links rather than conventional risers. The 27 g/m² fabric is only available in blue and red, so the APUS RS Hike is only available in a combination of these two colors. Special colors can only be ordered for the standard version.

Flight behaviour

Depending on wing loading, the wing's flight behaviour varies from standard to dynamic (see table). At the same time, the balanced handling and pleasant roll damping provide a pleasant, familiar flying feeling with outstanding performance.

Bonus

The innovative RAST concept has also proved its worth in this paraglider category. Delayed take-off behavior ensures an easy-to-control inflation phase and minimizes any tendency to involuntary take-offs, especially in steep terrain or strong winds. Once airborne, the RAST stabilizes the canopy in turbulent air and ensures above-average resistance to collapse, which has a positive effect on performance.
