Quatro rescue parachute from Skyparagliders
When Sky began investigating the concept of the square parachute, the design teams were keen to understand every detail in order to create an exceptional product. The aim was not to offer "just another square parachute" on the market, but to provide a unique, fully functional and, in a way, easy-to-use answer (no matter how much we all wish we didn't have to use our rescue).
Thanks to an in-depth study of the materials available on the market and their influence on fall rate and stability, they succeeded in combining shapes, fabrics and design techniques to achieve the ultimate solution. The result is QUATRO, a unique and safe Sky Paragliders parachute, stable and reliable, ready to help you in your daily flights, during your competitions or your bivouac flying expeditions.
Quatro features
The Quatro is lightweight (just 1.4 kg in size 110). What's more, being light means a smaller, faster opening, and of course less volume and weight to carry. It opens quickly because when problems arise, the solution must be immediate. What's more, it offers a low fall rate, depending on load: from 4.9 m/s (QUATRO 90 at maximum GVWR) to just 5.1 m/s (QUATRO 110 at maximum GVWR). The unique design of the corner vents enhances stability in difficult conditions. The Quatro parachute is immediately stable after deployment, which is essential if something goes wrong a few meters above the ground.
Sky rescue features
All sizes have identical structures. This means they all fold in the same way, and pilots don't need to study different packing techniques for different sizes, as frequently happens. It uses shock-absorbing polyamide lines that make the opening smooth and comfortable, leading to greater safety, as the pilot's body doesn't have to absorb the shock: the lines do.
The lines are connected to the wing by traditional loops. Pilots don't need to search for a workshop to change a line, the replacement procedure is simple, economical, fast and reliable: reducing the risk of error to an absolute minimum. This simple technical solution that can save your vacation was very demanding to design and produce to meet the criteria of free-fall testing. Every little detail of the design makes it unique. All panels are laser-cut to increase manufacturing quality, i.e. precision. In addition, the edges are melted and sealed by the laser beam.
Last but not least, the pod comes with four marked flaps for easy folding. Ultralight, it offers a solution for folding the lines on top, increasing deployment speed and making them easier to control. The parachute uses proven Sky Lite Dyneema risers.
