The octagonal design features an ingenious stabilization system that gives a rate of oscillation of between 0 and 5º - well below the current average rate of between 10 and 15º. With so little oscillation, the pilot avoids the pendulum effect during descent, and the risk of accelerating the fall is limited. When it comes to returning to the ground, it's the most important thing.
