Semi-steerable parachute
The Krisis Karré features 3 main innovations: a horizontal speed after opening, a glide ratio of 1.5 and a folding system to improve opening speed. The Krisis Karré is therefore a semi-steerable parachute.

Krisis Karré: the square parachute from Kortel
The brand-new Kortel Design rescue parachute, the Krisis Karré, features 3 main innovations:
Firstly, the Karré's unique design generates a horizontal speed after opening. This creates lift, significantly improving sink rate. It also provides greater stability than a conventional hemispherical.
Secondly, this horizontal speed also provides a glide ratio of around 1.5, enabling the pilot to steer the parachute using the handle system, and thus avoid potential obstacles during descent.
Last but not least, the asymmetrical shape of the parachute means it can be folded to improve opening speed, without complicating the packing process.
The Krisis Karré is therefore a Semi-Drigeable parachute
The design of the pod and the low compression of the reserve in the pod allow for improved extraction, particularly with harnesses with drawer pockets. It also features a more compact pod for use in the ventral position. Last but not least, the UV riser protectors are ideal for use in open-air setups, such as tandem flights.
