Progress and have fun with the Spantik 2
The SPANTIK is the culmination of over a year's design and development work by our new team: an original wing that's easy to access, high-performance, light and compact.
The Spantik, for whom? Who?
The Spantik is designed for a wide range of pilots, from those just perfecting their skills, who will be able to progress safely, to the most demanding pilots looking for a simple, high-performance glider that will enable them to go cross-country, practice rando or bivouac flying or, quite simply, do a few waggas.
The qualities of Nervures canopies are reflected in their low weight and good compactness, thanks to our choice of different Skytex weights (38, 32 and 27 g/m²), which have been tried and tested over time.
Preparing the wing is made easier by the pruned lines and the line references used, which make for smooth untangling.
In no- or light-wind conditions, the wing rises lightly and stabilizes easily, with no tendency to overshoot. In stronger conditions, these characteristics are repeated, provided the pilot accompanies the glider gently.
The control travel is large, giving access to a wide variety of flight regimes. Response is precise and efficient in the first 30/40 centimetres. The good yaw recovery makes the glider extremely efficient in thermals. It accepts slow flying speeds well. The flare is generous and unsurprising.
The speed system is identical to that of the DIAMIR. Without significantly reducing glide ratio, it offers good stability and resistance to turbulence. The ball-bearing pulleys provide the necessary flexibility for active piloting during the longest transitions.
All these assets make this wing an original and pleasant compromise. Whether on site, on a cross-country flight or on a trip, thanks to its low weight and compact size, you'll be able to take it anywhere, even in your carry-on luggage!
Colors
When ordering, please specify the carry bag and options you have chosen:
The SPANTIK is delivered in a protective sub-bag, accompanied by our ultra-light speed-bar double bar mounted on two Charly aluminum split hooks, the flight manual, a small repair kit and a carry bag.
When ordering, please specify which rucksack you would like to use.
We recommend the following: Light 90-liter rucksack, Site 150-liter rucksack.
The SPANTIK comes standard with webbing risers, but can be fitted with knotted risers in dyneema halyard on request (weight saving: 200g).
A sheathed dyneema high line is also available at no extra cost (1.1mm instead of 0.8) to reassure all those who frequent aggressive take-offs.
Approval
Approved class B (EN 926).
A majority of A ratings attest to its accessibility.
Tips for use
We recommend flying the SPANTIK in the mid-range. This naturally fast and maneuverable wing offers good tolerance of wing loading. The wide coverage of PTVs allows you to choose the glider that suits your style.
Construction
Canopy
The architecture of the SPANTIK is inherited from the DIAMIR, with a particular adaptation due to the lower aspect ratio and number of cells. The SPANTIK retains the V-shaped bottom surface system, coupled with four rows of diagonal bulkheads.
Anchor points are reinforced and retracted into the canopy to optimize drag.
The leading-edge snap-ring technology has been retained, with a snap-ring blocking system applied to the rib. This system eliminates stress concentrations, the risk of degradation due to abrasion, and hard points likely to generate line restraints.
The adoption of snap rings was combined with an innovative cut-out of the junctions between leading edge, decoration and upper surface, with a remarkable effect on the surface finish of the upper surface.
A polyamide rush reinforcement on the last row completes the transmission of forces and contributes to good behavior at high angles of attack.
At the wingtips, an unsuspended blowing fin, raised at the trailing edge, fixes the marginal vortex and also acts as a speed dump.
The Spantik benefits from recent developments by Porcher Sports in terms of coating, with the use of three Skytex fabrics of the latest "universal" generation.
Line
The top line is made of Liros DC 100 unsheathed impregnated Dyneema.
The bottom line is made of Edelrid pre-stretched and finely sheathed Dyneema, which combines good dimensional stability with remarkable resistance to breakage over time.
The geometrical arrangements adopted and the choice of unsheathed Liros for the top section have enabled a significant reduction in drag. With over 100 meters less line than a FAIAL of equivalent size, the gain in line drag is very significant (around 25%). This is particularly true during accelerated transitions.
We have chosen to keep to 4 rows in order to reconcile our preoccupation with lightness with our concern to offer stable behavior throughout a lifespan corresponding to the usual criteria.
Lifters
The webbing risers are made from stable, lightweight 15mm webbing. The best fittings have been selected:
- ball-bearing pulleys forspeed-bar,
- splicedspeed-bar halyard with "Charly" split hooks,
- lightweight ergonomic handles secured by magnets.
Option:
As an option, the SPANTIK can be fitted with knotted Dyneema halyard risers (weight saving of around 200 grams).
