A slender Nervures wing
The success of the Whizz has conditioned the objectives of its successor. Finesse and maneuverability are the Whizz 2's strong points.

The Whizz breaks category codes
To renew the WHIZZ our specifications were particularly ambitious, and the success of this glider has set the bar very high!
- ultra-easy inflation and loading in all conditions,
- finesse and maneuverability,
- thermal performance,
- weight and compactness,
- an extra large size.
Above all, we have sought to achieve the best compromise between weight, ease of take-off, flight quality and ability to land in real-world conditions, with the same concern for durability. With a higher cell count and 4.9 aspect ratio, the WHIZZ 2 is as light as less efficient, less structured double-surfaces, and as efficient as more structured, heavier canopies. The short line cone ensures easy take-off in difficult conditions.
Recommended use
The 20 is suitable for pilots from 50 to 95 kg over a wide range of applications, including high-mountain touring, travel and, of course, on-site flying.
The 22 is perfectly suited to pilots over 80 kg who prefer to take off with a real and excellent resource, as well as a real ability to accelerate when necessary.
The 25 enables all pilots from 60 kg to 100 kg to use a modern, easy-to-access, high-performance and very light wing, right out of school! The 140kg maximum weight rating is intended for specific use.
The 18 has not been renewed, even though this size has had its share of die-hard fans. We think that the SWOOP XP 19 corresponds to the mountain use they make of it!

Whizz construction
Line
The bottom line is made of pre-stretched, heat-treated Dyneema with a fine sheath, for significant drag reduction. The upper line is unsheathed, giving priority to compactness and weight.
As an option, the WHIZZ 2 is available with the line sheathed at the brakes only; this increases weight by 200 grams and reduces speed by 2 to 3 km/h and glide by 0.2 points.
- high & intermediate: DYNEEMA DC100,
- low A: DYNEEMA A-7950-190,
- low B: DYNEEMA A-7950-145,
- low C: ARAMIDE A-6843-140,

Canopy
Open-work diagonal bulkheads provide excellent hold for unsprung profiles, while keeping canopy weight to a minimum. Nervures assembly quality: double seams, inner hems, trailing edge gallon, etc.
Leading edge ribs are clamped to the rib using pieces cut from lightweight fabric to eliminate stress concentrations, abrasion damage and hard points.
Innovative 3D balloning of the leading edge, using the latest version of our CAO software, provides a remarkable surface finish.
A snap ring on the last row completes the transmission of forces, contributing to good behavior at high incidence and improving glide.
We have selected the best "Porcher Sport" fabrics and mixed qualities for optimum lightness without compromising longevity.
- BA in water-repellent Skytex 32,
- top surface, bottom surface and intermediate partitions in Skytex 27,
- x and load-bearing partitions in Skytex 27 hard,
- a new trailing edge braid has been specially developed to ensure lightness, compactness and, above all, safety...
We have mastered the application of this assortment of fabrics, which results in a rather light canopy that is highly durable and stable to ageing.
Elevators
Standard risers are equipped with a speed-bar and are made from 13mm aramid webbing. Their thinness makes them compact, and the stiffness of the material makes them easy to handle. Webbing risers cannot be fitted with trimmers. Lightweight risers are equipped with either a speed-bar or trimmers (trimmers not approved) made of impregnated dyneema halyard (the braid does not unravel). They are both lightweight and compact, and their flat shape makes them easier to check during pre-flight. speed-flying mountain hybrid wing
Construction
Line
The bottom line is made of pre-stretched, heat-treated Dyneema with a thin sheath, providing significant drag reduction. The top line is also sheathed to facilitate untangling and provide better resistance to abrasion.
As an option, the WHIZZ is available with a stripped line, reducing weight by 180 to 200 grams.
Canopy
Diagonal bulkheads provide excellent hold for unsprung profiles, while keeping canopy weight to a minimum. Nervures assembly quality: double seams, inner hems, trailing edge gallon, etc.
Leading edge ribs are bonded to the rib using laser-cut parts to eliminate stress concentrations, abrasion damage and hard points. Shape-cut Mylars complete this construction to optimize profile strength.
