MCC has thought of intermediate pilots
With its moderate aspect ratio (5.2), even distribution of lines across the canopy and rigid element-free construction,
the EXPLORA ignores fashion trends to return to the very essence of paragliding: an ultra-light, flexible aircraft.
"Light" is used here for a model that weighs from 3.6 kg (size XS) to 4.2 kg (size L).6 kg (size XS) to 4.2 kg (size L).
This result is achieved through a rigorous design process, without resorting to simplistic recipes.
Robust fabric, fully sheathed lines and webbing risers make the EXPLORA a durable, practical and easy-to-use paraglider.
Take-off is child's play, with a breath of fresh air and a smooth climb.
In flight, the EXPLORA has a fluid trajectory, ricocheting off ascents without porpoising.
The progressive, smooth and precise turn allows you to corkscrew thermals at the threshold of exhilaration.
Gifted in all segments of use, the EXPLORA is a discreet companion for cross-country, mountain or travel flying, and a formidable machine in thermals as well as in transition.
Sail design
- Reduced weight despite the use of robust, top-quality materials (Skytex 32 Universal).
- Moderate aspect ratio of 5.2 for a high level of passive safety.
- Reinforced leading edge with shape-memory materials; stiff Nylon fabric and double reinforcement in Mylar and Hypalon guarantee impeccable take-off behavior.
- SVB internal construction for balanced lift and transverse stresses thanks to optimized positioning of diagonal structures.
- Double 3D-shaping on the top surface and 3D-shaping on the bottom surface for a well-shaped, high-performance leading edge.
- Cleaning opening on stabilizers.
Lines
- Four risers for enhanced stability. They makespeed-bar more efficient and less physical.
- The green stabilizer lines are easy to distinguish, for added safety.
- The lines are fully sheathed for obvious practical reasons, and each row of lines is clearly distinguished by a different color. The same color codes have been used for over 25 years!
- Line diameters are optimized for maximum strength and minimum drag.
- The lines are made entirely of Dyneema, guaranteeing constant strength throughout the life of the glider.
- All lines are pre-stretched before being tensioned from cut to 5 kg: this manufacturing procedure guarantees excellent packing stability.
Risers
- Pre-stretched 13 mm wide polyester webbing risers are easy to handle, even when wearing gloves or mittens.
- A' risers for making ears
- Competition-grade handles with lugs for precise piloting and snap fastening.
- Handle swivels to prevent brake rope twisting.
- Plastic shims on the links keep risers and lines in position; they also prevent untimely loosening.
- speed-bar ball-bearing pulleys.
- Speed-bar in two phases, with the first part of the stroke requiring less force.
