Single-surface wings are no longer just the preserve of extreme mountaineers. The new Skin 3 is an exceptional wing for any pilot looking for the perfect balance between accessibility/performance and lightness/durability.

The Skin 3 delivers unprecedented joy of flight, with precise and more accessible controls, giving pilots confidence even during their learning phase (EN B). The wing features a longer braking amplitude and increased passive safety for progressive, fun flying. Its maneuverability and flying efficiency will help you achieve all the walk-and-fly or flight-bivouac adventures you can imagine.

In terms of wing structure, the Skin 3 features a newly designed closed leading edge based on 3DL (3D Leading Edge). This translates into greater wing strength, easier take-off, incredibly short and efficient handling, greater safety thanks to excellent control precision, and quicker recovery in the event of an out-of-flight situation. The leading edge uses SLE (Structured Leading Edge) technology, which gives the wing greater stability and balance throughout its profile, enabling it to achieve higher speeds and unprecedented penetration.

Once in the air, the Skin 3 proves to be much more than a glider designed solely for flying down mountains, it finally opens up the possibility of cross-country flying with a single-surface wing. Thanks to its improved behavior in thermal or turbulent conditions, the glider is also capable of flying in windy conditions, making it perfect for bivouac flights and big adventures.



Its new internal structure combines ribs and diagonals (Skytex 32 g / m2) to better distribute the pilot's weight over the entire profile. The direct consequence of this is a 44% reduction in line length compared to the previous model. This considerably reduces drag and improves performance during all phases of flight, while greatly simplifying the process of preparing the wing for flight.

This reduction in the number of lines is also a key factor in achieving a lightweight profile without affecting the choice of the rest of the materials and fabric. When developing the new Skin 3, the durability of the wing was a key consideration. To this end, we used a 32 g/m² Porcher Skytex semi-light fabric for the top surface and a 27 g/m² Porcher Skytex for the internal structure of the leading edge. A combination of materials that brings lightness but also ensures strength and durability.

Like all Niviuk wings, the Skin 3 is structured with Nitinol (TNT) rods to strengthen the profile and reduce the wing's weight, and gives the profile shape memory and ultra-elasticity in the leading edge. At the same time, the use of 3DP (3D Pattern Cut) technology ensures optimum fabric tension, avoiding wrinkles and any deformation that would impair glide performance.

Landing and flare are now the Skin 3's trump cards compared with all other single-surface wings, and pilots can use the new hybrid trim system (half trimmers, half accelerator), which offers a wider range of brake travel and a reserve of energy for a beautifully controlled touchdown, or a finely controlled flair.
