The new Niviuk Skin 3 P revolutionizes the concept of lightweight as we understand it, offering a perfect balance of weight, performance and durability. A glider that can reach higher speeds and offers pilots more fun. It's easier to handle, simpler and more efficient than the previous generation of single-surface gliders.
The wing's flying characteristics are very similar to those of a classic free-flight wing. In fact, it can fly in thermals and strong winds, without compromising safety and comfort. Nevertheless, it is far more stable than any single-surface wing on the market. From the moment it's inflated and throughout the flight, the Skin 3 P lets you fly with confidence in all kinds of conditions. You'll feel confident under your wing in your harness. The use of ultra-light materials (Porcher Skytex 27), combined with the application of various Niviuk technologies, has resulted in a super-light, comfortable and extremely versatile paraglider.
In terms ofwing structure, the Skin 3 P features a new self-inflating closed leading edge. This reinforces thewing 's solidity and enables higher speeds. Its internal structure has been completely redesigned. Based on a combination of ribs and diagonals, it offers optimal load distribution. This has enabled Niviuk to reduce total line length by over 40%.
A new material tensioning system, first used in the manufacture of the Icepeak Evox competition wing, prevents any type of deformation or wrinkling that would degrade or hinder its gliding or thermalling performance, while contributing to its handling and strength.
Ultra-light risers are another innovation. Based on a combination of 6 mm Dyneema lyros and 3 mm Dyneema webbing, they incorporate a new trim system already used in high-performance wings. Thanks to this new design, thewing features a simple, fluid, easy-to-use trimming system. Extremely light, with no metal parts that would increase the final weight, each riser weighs just 45 g, including brake handles and trimming system.
What's more, the Skin 3 P has a longer brake travel for greater passive safety. The pilot can precisely control the speed of the glider and ensure a precise landing with an efficient resource.
The Skin 3 P also incorporates the ultra-light IKS connection system between the risers and lines. This system is based on a simple Dyneema loop with its own locking system. The use of Nitinol (TNT) in the profile has further reduced the weight, ensuring uniform inflation for easy take-off and extremely short handling.
