Low intensity beacon
The rules for marking obstacles to air navigation are defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) (Annex 14 Volume 1, 3rd edition July 1999).
The obstacles defined by ICAO include the following structures:
- Industrial chimneys
- Pylons (Telecom, TV, Radiocom...)
- High-voltage lines (electrical distribution)
- Bridges
- High-rise buildings
- Power plants
- Cranes
BA10 low-intensity obstruction lights meet ICAO requirements, with a luminosity greater than 10 cd.
Installation
Low-intensity obstruction lights can be installed on structures up to 150 m in height.
Above 45 m in height, several levels of obstruction lights should be installed.
The maximum distance between two levels of obstruction lights should be 45 m.
In the case of chimneys, the lights should be installed between 1.5 m and 3 m below the top.
Each level has 3 lights distributed at 120° around the perimeter.
BA10 beacons can be supplied as stand-alone units or mounted on a
stainless steel bracket and connection box. A twilight switch is also available as an option.
Depending on the geographical location of the obstacle (airport holes, etc.), in certain cases ICAO requires the installation of dual lights operating in redundancy (master/slave) and beacon operation in "Standby" mode.
BA10 beacons are therefore available with a double bracket, and with Beacon-Beacon-Rescue (BBS - master/slave) or simultaneous operation.
Available in 230V and 12V / 24V / 48V / 110V versions
